25 Fragrance notes I feel inlove in this year [2025]
I independently review everything I recommend. When you buy through my links, I may earn a commission. See more details here.
Tiare Flower is a fragrance note that’s supposed to evoke feelings of being at the beach and being in the warm sun.
Coconut is such a versatile fruit that adds a bit of milkiness, lactonic edge to fragrances. There are Coconut Milk, Coconut Water, Coconut Powder, and Coconut Cream notes.
Lychee is a fruity aquatic fragrance note that seems to be a favorite amongst the most feminine leaning fragrances. This is definitely in my top 5 favorite fragrance notes and its typically blind buy friendly for me.
Pink Pepper is the sweet berry like addicting note in your fragrance that you can’t put your finger on. Its sparkly and reminds me of something fizzy like champagne. This was a note I had to compare across multiple fragrances I loved and felt immediate joy over.
Musk is so versatile and a fragrance note I did not want to love. Musk I thought was “basic” but when I opened myself up to the possibilities of musk I found fruity musk, woody musk, floral musk, and even kitten musks were some of my top favorites. Musk fees like the closeness or the distance between yourself and another person, place, or thing.
Plum is not only an enticing color but an enticing scent. Plum lingers on the skin and makes people want to come in close. Its very distinguishable by its slight tartiness.
Rose can be identified by its a slightly sweet, floral, and fresh quality. Rose when paired with strong cirtrus notes and sweet fruity notes like lychee, plum, and begamont makes it smell so powerful. It touches your heart and its classified as a “heart” note.
Pistachio has a slightly salty nutty quality that I NEVER thought I would enjoy so much in fragrance especially paired with cake, caramel, and lactonic notes. A fragrance that also grew on me this year that I didn’t love at first sniff was She was Here by Forvr Mood.
Guava is a tropical, sweet fragrance note that transports you somewhere peaceful and envokes happiness. If there was ever a fragrance note that echoed the energy of a Sagittarius its this. A fragrance that makes you want to travel, roam, and be free.
Leather/Suede note was one of my first sought after notes when I really started to collect fragrances. I like the animalic quality with the sexy smooth quality of a leather fragrance. Leather fragrances also perform with exceptional longevity on my skin. Halfeti was my first taste of a leather fragrance. Rodeo is a fragrance that brings me a sense of nostalgia that I love even though I don’t like the way it personally smells like on me.
Raspberry became my second most sought out fragrance note this year and I want to add to the list. Many fragrances that contain raspberry also add a strawberry note but I can distinguish between the two. If the fragrance has that strong tart citrus quality that I enjoy it will be highly sought after by me.
Pomelo, similar to grapefruit, was a note I didn’t expect to love as much as I did. This became a fragrance note I want to explore more. Also Oolong Tea note as well. The pomelo stands out as a warm citrusy slightly bitter smell that feels like comfort.
Praline is such an underrated and gorgeous fragrance note. Its warm, nutty, sweet and brings all the feels of comfort to me. I think about cold autumn nights and pie.
Peach is such a joyous scent! How can you possibly feel sad when smelling like peach? Peach is such a beautiful citrus scent that I rarely dislike if I smell it in fragrance. I was blown away how peach can be sweet, or sensual, and/or fuzzy.
Fig was another scent I sought after heavily this year and Woodphoria was my introduction. I have gone through many fig scents this year. Fig tends to be associated with its clean linen laundryness ie. Father figure by Phlur but its not my favorite interpretation. I like my fig sweet and woody think fig newtons.
Coffee is such an amazing scent and when combined with lactonic notes is so good. I was blown away specifically with the depth of the coffee note I got in Blues because its mixed with notes like apricot which on paper sounds strange but is deeply rich and interesting in this fragrance.
Caramel is probably my #1 fragrance note. Caramel is sweet, sticky, lively and can ruin a fragrance easily. It won’t cover up a poorly made fragrance but will highlight a very good made one. I’ve tried MANY caramel fragrances and these are the best in my opinion.
Blood Orange is similar to Lemon but is distinguisable by it being a little more tart when its not meant to be in a gourmand fragrance. Its slightly bitter, sweet, warm, and still unique.
Neroli is such a gorgeous white floral. Its sunshine in a bottle and makes fragrances bright and interesting. Neroli suprisingly to me has range reminds me of weddings and after parties. It feels like the type of fragrance note you wear to make a special day even more special.
Apple has RANGE! Red apple, green apple, juicy apple, tart apple, and even sexy apple?! I am still flabbergasted how Chris Collins was able to make apple SEXY! I had to specify Winter Spice over its inspiration Winter Candy Apple by Bath and Body Works because this was the formula I fell inlove with. I am not a huge fan of the original.
Marshmallow has to be in my top #5 fragrance notes of all time AND is a fragrance note that requires patience. If you purchase from niche, indie, and small brands sometimes the marshmallow note takes time to develop. Its absolutely WORTH the wait!
Patchouli is a polarizing scent but it makes your fragrances have depth and longevity on the skin. I want to try more patchouli fragrances going into 2026. Patchouli fragrances are also diverse there is no one way to experience it. I think these are the top 4 that my nose enjoys.
Tuberose is another white floral that when I smell it, I love it. Very similar to Gardenia but its a bit creamy. It makes the fragrances have an interesting twist to just being a floral. Tuberose can also smell poorly to me depending on what its combined with.
Aldehydes not to be confused with musks. Musks are powdery and supposed to be like skin. Aldehydes are like the champagne bubbles of fragrance. Similar feeling to me to Pink Pepper. They have the same effect on me. They make me feel joy.
Egg yolk?! I know I HAD to bring this one up because its simply too interesting not to talk about. I want to see more brands give us something different and interesting. I love that mooncakes can be a nostalgic dessert no matter the city you live in. I want to experience more asian food/gourmand fragrances going into 2026 and this slightly salt twist on a lactonic note is so fun. So interesting, give me more!
